Always good service
Wish I had looked at yelp before trying to use this bank! I actually didn't think such deep incompetence was possible. Attempted to redeem some savings bonds and in one disaster after another, 3 visits to the bank during my work day to resolve the issue, and I have marred bonds with which my next adventure will include attempting to actually redeem them.
To detail: went in to open an account and deposit my savings bonds. Bank: " sure no problem! Let's get them deposited". Bank 2 hours later calling me: "uh, there's a problem and it turns out that we can't actually deposit these to open your account but no problem- we will mail them out for you but we need you to come in and sign the form to get them mailed"
Go to bank: "ok great, we can get these sent in but it will take 2-6 weeks" (me: why did I have to come to the bank for this?)
Bank, calls again: "actually it looks like we can't even mail these in for you, you're going to have to come get them and take them to another bank or mail them in yourself"
Me: goes to bank, and asks: "what happens if they're invalidated by the bank's signature on all the bonds?" Bank: "here let me go to the Treasury public website and read their instructions to the public." Me, okay, but let's at least sign something saying that you endorsed these checks and in case that invalidates them, at least the bank is agreeing to help: bank: "No. We signed the checks but we aren't going to sign any paper saying that we are responsible for signing the checks...but don't worry! Our seal on all of your checks won't prevent you from redeeming them, promise!!(but we won't sign anything)"
So after 3 different instances of 1st bank telling me that something is possible, then surprise, NOPE! I'm supposed to trust them that I can actually redeem my formerly but now 1st Bank marred checks? Nope and nope and nope. Be looking forward to a BBB report.
