my partner and I are considering opening a joint bank account at your bank in Jacksonville, Texas. The account would have both of our names on it and we would both be putting money into the account for household expenses. I wanted to clarify that we would both be able to write checks on this account without having the other person co sign, correct.

Another question would be, if he or I wanted to add one of our children to write checks in the case that we would not be able , how does that work? If one of us died and we had one of our children's name on the account, they would not be owner of the account, correct. We have wills that specify our estate is to be divided equally after we both are no longer living. Just for legal purposes, I wanted to get clarification on this. We presently live in Texas City, Texas but are relocation to Jacksonville soon. We are in our 80's and would like legal advice as to how to set our account up. Thank you
