The credit union was originally chartered in September 1962 by employees of Philip Morris in Richmond, VA. The original charter members had a vision that employees could pool their funds together to promote thrift among credit union members. They were indeed visionaries, as today Call Federal Credit Union now has assets of over $350 million and serves over 31,000 members.
